Team Alberta - 2004 Nationals

This idea is in response to
an apparent interest amongst Alberta IMAC pilots to attend the Model
Aeronautic's National Competition proposed for Vancouver B.C.
in late July of 2004. We do however, believe that
it should not be limited to just IMAC pilots and extend an invitation to
other special interests to participate as well. This is to be a light
hearted, fun approach to competition - more about simply participating
than winning - more about the fellowship of the encompassing travel
vacation than the end destination. The premise is this: -
Alberta pilots would have more than a year to prepare aircraft and
practice, practice........ -
Participating pilots would arrange 2004 vacation time to allow for a
relaxed RV round trip to the competition. -
Hopefully travelling together, we would arrange to camp and fly with
various clubs along the way...... -
The "Nationals" would be but one stop on "Team
Alberta's" British Columbia goodwill road tour... Interested pilots are asked
to spread the word "Alberta is going to the Nationals"
and everyone is welcome! Until a formal organizing
committee is struck - Donette and I welcome your questions and support -

Minutes from the past meeting on Sunday June 9th, 2002.

We are having a club meeting Sunday June 9th, 11AM at the
Strathmore field, then we are flying afterwards. Please come and
bring a friend.

Check out the Events page. On there you will get
information on Events at Foothills and around the Province. Coming
up soon, we are holding a fun fly Spring
Breakup Fun Fly May 11, 2002. Nothing special is going
on, just some good, fun, flying. We have great camping facilities.
Bring your camper, tent, whatever you want. Hopefully if conditions allow
we will be having a bonfire in the evening. My family and I as well as a
few others will be camping out at the field from Friday night, through till
Sunday afternoon.
