Annual Heli Rally
August 21, 22, 2004
The Foothills Flyers Society of Calgary
celebrated its 20th annual helicopter rally on August 21 and
22, 2004 at its Strathmore field. Guests began arriving on
Thursday August 19 and some pilots enjoyed a good day of flying on
Friday August 20. The event kicked off on Saturday August 21 with
blue skies and warm weather. A total of 41 pilots attended the event
including pilots from British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and
Alberta. This year the caliber of pilots made everyone sit back and
watch as they treated the spectators to some spectacular flying. As
usual, the beginners received lots of help to get their helicopters in
the air. Thanks to all those who helped the beginner pilots. Everyone
enjoyed the hamburger lunch and the barbecue steak and salmon supper.
The afternoon was a bit breezy and by evening the weather began to turn
nasty. Rain cancelled the night flying but not the festivities around
the fire pit. Sunday was a wash with heavy rain and cold
temperatures. The events of the day were cancelled except for pilot
prize draws and the raffle. The Foothills Flyers would like to
thank everyone who joined us for this year’s rally as well as our
sponsors for their continued support.

The 16th annual helicopter rally was a fun time for all attendees. Held
on the weekend of August 18 and 19, 2000, with 43 pilots participating.

The 16th annual helicopter rally was a good time as ussual. Held
on the weekend of August 14th and 15th, 1999.

Annual Heli Rally
The 14th annual helicopter rally was another GREAT success. Held on the
weekend of August 15th, and 16th 1998, once again, over thirty pilots attended.

Annual Heli Rally
This was the 13th year for the Foothills Flyers Heli Rally. It was a GREAT
success with over 30 pilots attending. It was held the weekend of August 16, and
17, 1997.
